     My Heath was adopted by two adorable sisters who are college students. I could ask for a better family. They live with their parents, brother and a son of one of the young ladies. I often worried that my apartment manager would make me get rid of him even though I was granted permission to have him, but with his separation anxiety and incessant barking I knew it was a matter of time and due to my health I couldn't give him everything he needed, so out of love for my precious Heath, my husband and I put Heath's needs first and let him go. Thanks to the family that adopted him and thank you Resue Me for your help.

We were told by other groups that we should be ready to separate them because finding a home for two bonded litter mates could take months. Well that just wasn't so! With the help of Rescue Me, in less than two weeks we had two interested families to choose from and we couldn't be happier to know that Bailey and Cooper have a new forever home with a lovely, loving family that thinks they are just as special as their original mommy did!!      Me and my husband's work schedules have made it so our dog was locked up nearly 20 hours out of the day. We are moving in less than a week, and our new house doesn't have a fenced in yard, so we can't just have him roam out there most of the day. He's a very high energy dog and deserves so much more than what we can currently give him, so after no help from local shelters, we turned to Rescue Me. Within about a week or two, an incredibly sweet couple looking for a dog just like Max called. In under 30 minutes at the dog park, they were in love with him and he was sweet on them. We're so grateful to have found a good, loving home for him through this website. Now we won't have to worry if he is getting the love and attention he needs.

     We rescued Piper and took him home. The first few days he would hardly eat or drink water and just lay around. Now today, he is up, playful, eating and drinking water, alert and listens when you speak to him. We are very pleased with him and he has found a loving home and he loves affection.      My husband and I wanted a Rat Terrier to help us on the property with squirrels, rats and mice. If Radison, aka Ratty, can help us with that it will be icing on the cake. She is such a sweet and lively little bundle of energy. My husband is so happy with her, he gets up early every morning to take her out for her potty time. We recently found out from our Vet that at six months of age, she has no hearing in one ear and only a very small amount in the other. At first I was saddened to hear this new development. However, she is a blessing and this only means we will have to rely on hand signals more than sound, which is more natural for dogs anyways. In three weeks, she has already learned to sit on command, potty outside and 'NO Chasing the Chickens'! I encourage everyone to adopt a pet (cat or dog) from Rescue Me! These animals need our help and the people who rescue them too.

     I rescued this little girl who was kept in the backyard for a year. She never went to a vet. When she got pregnant, the owner got rid of her puppies then her. She was only 14 pounds when I got her and she got the help she needed. She is now with great owners. Thank you, Rescue Me!

     Jackson is such a sweet boy that somehow ended up as a stray. He was very thin and scared. After a month with me he looked great, was so happy go lucky. Today, exactly one month after he came into rescue, he found his furever home.. He was just overjoyed when he met his new mommy and daddy and the feeling was mutual. Love at first sight for all of them. I'm so happy for you Jackson. YAY!      We needed to find a new home for our Rat Terrier, Jimmy. He was nine years old and has been with me and my husband for nine years before we were married and had our three children. Our son was allergic to dogs, and it wasn't getting any better, and then our newborn seemed to sneeze and cough when he was around the dog. We knew it was time to find him a better home. We were also getting ready to move where there was no yard or secure fencing. We got a call from Bev and Gordon, dog lovers who just recently lost their Rat Terrier, Frisky. She sounded so sweet from her phone call. I was convinced it was a match made in heaven. I sent my husband to drop Jimmy off, and he said that they were all nearly in tears. It made me feel hopeful. We stayed in contact, and after about six weeks, I took my kids and my mom with me to visit Jimmy's new home. He has the run of the house, beautiful yard and surroundings and lots of attention! Just what he deserves! Thank you Rescue Me for this great website!

     I had a dog that was given to me by a friend that could not keep her I had been looking for a home for her for a long time and then somehow just when we were almost out of options I got a call from a wonderful couple that wanted to adopt Dixie.      My husband and I saw Missy's photo on Rescue Me and fell in love with her. We lost our rat terrier, Daisy, last November from bone marrow cancer. We have been heartbroken ever since. I spoke with her foster mother and she is holding Missy for me to pick her up in a week or so. I plan to drive across country to pick her up- she means that much to us. Traveling across the country is nothing, if you want something bad enough. And we want and need Missy and I will do whatever it takes to have her.

     Roxy is a nine year old, female Rat Terrier that I rescued over a week ago from deplorable conditions.. Our first few days together were tough. She was definitely not used to love, toys or bones to chew on! I desperately reached out to the rescue groups to help find her a home, and while the intentions were good, they are full with more and more pets that have become homeless. A friend on Facebook gave me the information about Rescue Me. I posted Roxy with high hopes, and those prayers were answered. I started corresponding with a woman named Donna and over a few days and lots of questions, decided to make a home visit with Roxy. All the way there I was thinking, if something inside tells me NO, then we are walking out that door. We arrived, we met with Donna and her grown daughter, which is perfect, NO small children, and Princess, the nine year old Boston Terrier they recently adopted from a shelter. Princess immediately took to Roxy and I believe the two will become best friends. It is a home with a fenced yard, and I believe more love than she has ever known! Yes, I cried leaving her there. It's been awesome seeing the transformation from a little girl whose eyes were filled with sadness 10 days ago, leave. But I know she has a forever home! Thank you, Rescue Me.

     I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to bring Jiffy into my life. After two weeks at his new home, he is settling in well, is very eager to please, and is very receptive to training. He is a very affectionate little guy and gets lots of love in return. We went to the vet for a check up and some booster shots, and everything checked out well.      Sparky had multiple problems before he was rescued. His behavior was anything but friendly, he continuously barked and ran away from anyone. It is no wonder. He was picked up by a high kill animal control, was surrounded by bad conditions, and on a list to be euthanized. Our rescue group was called as a last resort as we've had results with similar, smaller dogs. The second strike after the nonsocial behavior was heartworm. This too delayed his adoption. His third strike was that he was not housebroken. He still showed bad behavior, and it was no surprise as he did not trust humans. He did enjoy sitting on the couch and cuddling with a couple of the rescuers. When an elderly man's granddaughter saw him on the Rescue Me! web site, she called and wanted to meet Sparky. This was the first interest shown for Sparky. However, his behavior was nothing to count on. She came and was asked to sit on the floor and wait for Sparky to come to her. When the meeting was done, he was sitting in her lap. The next step was to meet the grandfather. He wanted someone to ride with him in his wheel chair. Sparky came in and reminded the man of his beloved rat terrier who had recently passed away. Sparky took immediately to him and they have been buddies ever since. Sparky had been with us for over two years before being posted on Rescue Me!

     August was apparently dropped off in our neighborhood early one morning. After taking him in, we immediately posted his story on Rescue Me! August is a wonderful dog, but unfortunately we did not have the means to keep him, as we have other pets. Over the course of six weeks, three families came to visit August after discovering him through Rescue Me! The last family decided to adopt him, and we couldn't be more happy with his new home! There is no doubt they will provide a loving home for this great dog. Although we are sad to see him go, we are so happy he was adopted by a wonderful family. Rescue Me! has made me realize there are many families who want to adopt sheltered and fostered dogs. It is nice to know that there are so many people with hearts for animals, and we appreciate the platform Rescue Me! gave us to get the word out about August. Thanks for everything you do, and best wishes to the other families who are either looking for that special pet or are currently fostering an animal.

     Poor Bailey had been looking for a new home for a very long time. I'm happy that after all the inquiries, and there were many, one gentleman inquired and was really interested in Bailey for his young 13 year old daughter. We gave the daughter a chance and took Bailey for a meet and greet. Well, it was love at first sight and they took to each other like bees to flowers. This young lady is awesome with Bailey, a perfect match! Thank you, Rescue Me!

     We just lost our rat terrier BamBam and I was missing him. I googled Rat Terrier rescues and found Jeff's Rescue Me! website. The very first photo I saw was of Quincy, a beautiful little boy looking for a forever home. He was heartworm positive at Animal Control and no one wanted him. His time was very limited, and he was going to be put down. But after meeting this beautiful little guy, we adopted him immediately! He is friendly with humans and all of our other pets. Quincy is housebroken, and a true lap dog. Lucky us! Thank you, Jeff and Rescue Me!, for bringing us together. Forever, grateful, Quincy and Quincy's new family in Texas!

     My Little Ratter Jack was just adopted to a forever home as of last night! He has really found a very loving home with no other dogs, and will have lots of toys and food, and just as important LOVE and lots of walks! I also kept asking and searching diligently for the right people and screened them well to make sure Jack was going to a great place forever. He was given to me starved where you could see every bone, and dehydrated where his eyes were even sunken in some. His belly was swollen with worms and malnutrition, as well as he was sunburned. I got him fattened up, dewormed and got him started on good food, and he really came around to be the most best little guy! His new family loved him the minute they seen him, and he reacted just as enthusiastic as most Ratters get! I gave him for free and his registration papers to them so they could register him in their name. Thank you for posting the Rescue Me! site, as I hope it helps other Ratters find the loving homes they and all dogs deserve! Sincerely, Denise Rader

     Rescue Me! is so simple and such a great way to reach far and wide for potential new guardians for your precious furry friends and family members who for some unforeseen reason or in the best interest of your best friend you must re-home. In this case there were many inquiries and Sassie was adopted after two trial runs with two previous families. Her new human came all the way from outside Seattle, Washington to Tigard, Oregon to do a meet and greet and it was a perfect match. I will continue to use Rescue Me! to help place my sister's other retired show dogs and one she rescued from an abusive breeder... I will spread the word far and near!!

     We had to let our dog Tanga go due to moving, and we couldn't take her. I stumbled across the Rescue Me! site by chance and after a couple weeks, an old friend we had not seen in a long time contacted us about Tanga. She had seen the post and wanted to meet her. We took Tanga over and there was an instant connection. Tanga is very happy now and I can even visit on occasion whenever I go to see them. What a small world. Thank you, Rescue Me!

     We had a family member who needed to have his two pets adopted in a very fast time frame and Rescue Me! was able to get both girls placed and saved from a very bad situation. Our family will always be in their debt.

     We had Beau on Rescue Me for some time. He was very unhappy living with us because he didn't like me. He seemed to have a problem with older men. He got along fine with younger men, women, and all animals. A very nice lady, Carol, saw the posting on Rescue Me! and called.      Thank you so much for this website!!! I rescue strays, have them spayed/neutered and vaccinated, then try to find them loving forever homes. A local rescue group with connections to the New England states was posting some of my foster dogs, and if they were adopted, the group was getting the adoption fee even though I had paid for the vet costs. It did not discourage me from helping the animals though; however, when the rescue group changed management, they stopped posting my foster dogs. I am so glad to have found your website, and I have been spreading the word! Rescue Me! has helped me find homes for 3 dogs so far, the most recent being Caramel (now known as Bella). Her new 'dad' has been in touch with me to say that she is having a blast with her new doggy brother and sister! I am so happy for her, and through Rescue Me! I was able to find the perfect family for her! Thanks again! :)

     Tonie was rescued by heart2heart small dog rescue, from a Louisiana shelter that still believes gassing animals is ok. She came up with 6 other ratties to her foster home in Albany NY. Tonie was seen by a vet for her first checkup and heart worm test. Tonie tested very high Positive. A very kind women donated all the money it cost to have Tonie treated for her heartworm. In the mean time H2H posted Tonie on rescue me and a family here locally fell in love with her. The great family that adopted Tonie is very loving and are going slow with Tonie to over come her fears of humans from her past life. If they think they cannot make any money off the animal they are not worth their time. They told me and Goofy's new owner he wasn't worth the time or trouble.
