Rescue Me ID: 16-04-24-00451Nog (male)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I am Nog! Not Egg Nog - just Nog. I am the cutest little Rat Terrier/ Chihuahua mix that they make - I am about 8 pounds too. Good things come in small packages! At least that's what my foster mom says. I also come with lots of personality. I love playing with my toys and I love my foster siblings of all sizes. Sometimes you might find me snuggled up in any small spot right next to you. I am pretty smart too, I do all my business outside and sleep quietly in the crate although I would prefer next to my people. But I don't mind the crate at all. Right now I am around 5 months old and may grow to be 10 lbs if I am lucky. I should be at the ... (Read More)adoption center soon -so come meet me. Nog is a Male Rat Terrier / Chihuahua Mix that we estimate was born around November 15, 2015. Nog will not be at the adoption center until he has had his second round of puppy shots, but if you are interested in adopting him or any of our pups applications are available on our website through this link http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Thank you!     Fee to help other dumped dogs. Sissy was dumped with her sister. The breed heeler is not on the list but I think they are part Australian cattle dog, mixed with a much smaller dog, a terrier. Both of the girls are available. The sister is white spotted with a brown ear and one mask over one ear and half of face. Both are so shy but learning to trust. Sissy walks on all fours but has one leg that is withered a little. I have no idea how it was damaged but she gets around just fine. She uses the doggie door well and learned it immediately. She is very smart.

I rescued Walnut just over 4 years ago. He is the absolute cutest sweetest little guy. I had no idea he would start having mild seizures soon after I got him. The vet I had in San Diego could not find a medicine that helped. I followed my son, daughter-in-law, and first grandbaby toTexas when my son took a new job. We have been here 2 1/2 years. Walnut nipped at my grandson's calf about a year a half ago. He did not break the skin. My son and wife did not want me to bring Walnut over any more. After a year or so, Walnut returned to accompanying me to their home. A second grandchild, almost 3 months, is now part of the family. ... (Read More)Everything was going smoothly until Walnut nipped the 31/2 yr. old on March 18th. No broken skin, but my son and daughter-in- law made the decision that they never want Walnut around the kids again. Everyone says...just leave him at home. I am committed to being a grandmother to my grandsons, and that requires a lot of babysitting, sometimes overnights. I love Walnut with all my heart, but I can't bear to think of him not being welcome or included. He is by far the best dog I've ever had. Please, please, help me find him a new home. I will post a photo as soon as I figure out how to do it. He has a pure black head, big soulful eyes, and his markings are amazing. Black with cattle dog-like markings. He walks with greatest little prance. People are always oohing and ahhing over him. Please help me and Walnut. A vet here in Grapevine found medicine that has cured his seizures completely. (Less)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

**IN A FOSTER HOME FOR 2 YEARS NOW!** **PoPo NEEDS HIS VERY OWN FUR-EVER HOME! PoPo was rescued out of a very high kill shelter - San Antonio Animal Control. He was picked up as a stray and at that time he was in very poor shape. He has since rehabbed beautifully, physically, but sadly, the emotional scars of being neglected in his early life have left their mark. He does not trust easily, but once he is sure of you, he freely comes for pets and affection. My guess is he was not abused, but rather, just ignored. He is a very low maintenance dog - you just feed him twice a day, give him access to a safe, fenced yard and a warm bed and ... (Read More)blanket at night and he is happy. He also loves to play with other small dogs. He is not aggressive at all - he just wants you to let him go at his own pace. In the video, you will see him letting my foster puppies basically do whatever they want! So adorable! PoPo is fully vetted and weighs about 12 lbs. If you have room in your heart for PoPo, please contact me. (Less)

I am your typical terrier- confident, full of personality, and curious about my surroundings. I enjoy being outdoors but also love hanging with my people indoors. I am a great candidate for the dog park, long walks, and accompanying you on just about any adventure. I still have a decent spring in my step but am not overly hyper. And my looks will sweep you off your feet- just check out that beautiful brown patch around my eye. I had to work real hard to get that. Don't miss out- come take me home!     Little Bit is a gorgeous, tricolor chihuahua/rat terrier mix. He is a very small 6 lbs, and loves the company of other dogs. Although he is fearful at first, he quickly warms up and will want to be your best lap buddy. Little Bit was turned into Harris County Animal shelter along with 5 of his family members. The dogs had been hoarded by their owner, and kept in a yard with no human interaction. When Rescue Lane picked up the dogs from the shelter, their condition was deplorable. The dogs were feral, and were acting as a pack in a desperate attempt to stay safe. Covered in fleas, starving, and with no understanding of human touch, the feral ... Although he is still shy, he has come a long way. He loves the other dogs in his foster home, and he would do well in a family with small female dogs.     For Houston area adopters I am willing to meet in Conroe, Woodlands, and Baytown. Fee covers portion of fee for next rescue Dottie Looks like Dalmatian / Mother was Jack Russell /Heeler Australian Cattle Dog Father Big Hound Her greatest characteristic is her handling on a leash for someone who wants a walking companion. Dottie is medium/large dog with fluid movements and a joyful, playful temperament. Dottie was in the children program several years as a favorite due to her friendliness, ease with working with other dogs , and her impeccable leash handling. Children are always safe with Dottie. She is a perfect rider in cars and ... (Read More)kennels well. I knew the family who owned Dottie. They became overwhelmed with a large little of puppies and donated them to the summer program to work with children. Dottie has performed splendidly on all situations including parades. She works perfectly on the leash, but off leash she is a beauty to behold, running free but looking back for a call to reunite with the master. She likes to find turtles and bring them as an offering. They (turtles) come unharmed but the fate is not so pleasant for chickens or rabbits. She is an agile hunter. She lives with other dogs and is kenneled with another big hound. Due to some lack of food as a puppy she is grabby with treats and will slip it from your hand in a flash. She hordes extra food and will take a bowl to a hiding place and cover it with straw. I have always owned dogs and other animals. I had a career in education and recreation, serving in many capacities. I began dog rescue as a librarian when I asked children what kind of summer program they would like and they chose dog rescue, dog training, and dog therapy. I sold Labrador retrievers and Jack Russell terriers before I became a dog rescuer and realized that until a lot of change occurs in the attitude of those who abuse and abandon dogs there is no need to be a breeder, there are planet of excellent dogs available that need help. I am in my 60s and have become overwhelmed with the number of dogs dumped. I need to place some so I can foster more. Dottie has been spayed, has her shots, and is on heart worm medicine. (Less)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Attention, all you lovers of buggy eyes and cute flappy ears! My name is Gigi, and you need me in your fur-family now. My foster parents can't decide if I'm more of a Rat Terrier or a Chihuahua, but I say - why does that matter!? I' m adorable! I'm 4.5 yrs old, and I have potty-training down-pat. I get to do whatever I want in the house when everybody else has to go to work. I haven't had much interaction with people or other dogs, so new things can be scary to me. Still, I warmed up to my foster parents in a few hours - now they pet me and carry me around and tell me what a cute girl I am. When they get home, I'm so excited! I bounce up and ... (Read More)down until they sit and I can curl up in someone's lap. I'm not just a couch potato, though. I skitter around the house to make sure the perimeter is secure and everyone is doing what they should be. I follow my foster parents around and it makes them laugh except when I bark at people outside the window. Then they tell me 'shhhh'. Right now I have 4 foster doggie siblings- 2 big ones and 2 bigger ones (compared to me anyway!). Of the biggest ones, I prefer the lazy white dog who doesn't make sudden movements. The two smaller Dachshunds are weird, and I watch them with my buggy eyes. Sometimes I try to play with them, but it's still a little intimidating for me. Guess you can't be good at everything! I'm a good girl at bedtime - since I've spent lots of time in a crate before I came here, my foster mom lets me sleep in my bed right next to her pillow. When I'm not so insecure, my bed will go on the floor. Sometimes if I don't settle down and give foster dad too many kisses, he makes grumpy noises and says he will put me in a crate. Oops! Then I settle down and I'm off to sleep until the morning. We think Gigi is between 4 and 5 years old and weighs about 10 pounds. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our websitehttp://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Pez is a sweet as candy and twice as fun! This little Pez is a tiny terrier with tons of personality! He is always happy and bouncy! Pez gets along with other dogs his size, and loves people! He is so happy you would think he is smiling all the time! Just look at that grin! Pez is about 2-3 years old, neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and ready for a home of his own! He only weighs 4-5 pounds so he needs to be an indoor dog. We do not have a facility that opens to the public, our pets are in foster homes so that we can get to know them. We meet by appointment. See our website for more pictures and info at ...     Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
