Introducing the dynamic duo of Lucky and Lily! These two cuties came to be at the shelter because their owner was moving into assisted living and there was no one left to care for them. Lily is approximately 6 yrs old, Lucky is aproximately 7. We are not completely sure of either's past except that we were told Lily was abused and beaten badly when she was younger. We are so thankful she survived. She is very cautious of new people at first and she does take a few minutes to warm up to you. Lily also does better outside of a kennel, again we do not know her past before her previous owner but she is overcome with fear being 'cornered' in a ... (Read More)kennel, for now, she does best to open the door and allow her to exit on her own. Her flashbacks of prior abuse combined with the confusion of losing her home and living in a kennel again at the shelter have swayed anyone from adopting her. Please realize, Lily is traumatized right now and she needs an understanding family willing to help this girl remember how good life can be. Lily is not only beautiful but she is a wonderful, loving girl and is a great companion, who enjoys taking walks and cuddle time in your lap, she just needs time to heal. Her one constant in her life, the one who makes her feel safe, is her best friend and 'brother' Lucky and we would love for her to have a human family give her the same. Lucky, well this little guy is as sweet as he is cute, he is ready to find his forever family but he won't go without his girl Llly. Lucky loves people, he adores being held and cuddled, he also has great little Chihuahua kisses. he even got to ride in a Christmas parade!! *These two are EXTREMELY bonded and must be adopted together NO EXCEPTIONS. Due to Lily's fear of the unknown and that both dogs are under 10 pounds, the adoptive home must have no small children.* Lucky and Lily are both UTD on vaccinations, HW negative, spayed and neutered.     Nilla is a Jack Russell Terrier with maybe a little Rat Terrier mixed in. She is 2 years old and weighs only 15 pounds. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Nilla is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, does well with other dogs, and extremely well with very young children, as long as they have been taught to be nice to doggies. We are not sure how she does with cats. She is a good mix of playful and cuddle and is not a barker. Nilla is just about perfect. She is house and crate trained and her leash manners are improving. Minnie is very submissive to people and to other dogs. She also does well with cats and children.     Loving, smart, house broken, was dumped off, I have no idea of the breed. The vet calls her a terrier mix. Extremely good watch dog, and might make a good hunting dog (chases squirrels, rabbits, and cats). Doesn't like a leash. I just have too many.

Bella is one of a BONDED PAIR and WILL NOT be adopted separately. She has been with Buster for her entire life. Please see his post to learn about him. Bella is a little over 5 years old, weighs less than 5 pounds, is spayed and current on shots. She is crate trained and house trained but you must be sure to take her out often enough. She is not wonderful on a leash. Bella is nervous around other dogs, especially larger ones, until she gets comfortable with them. PIease Read Before Adopting a Rat Terrier in Tennessee
Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
