Spot is a 7yr old, medium size, male Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix who has been in rescue for more than five years after he was found running loose in a rural area of TN. This sweet baby has had a troubled past, he might have been hit by a previous owner with a broom and would get quite hyper at adoption events when he was approached by something that resembles a broom. Now, after all these years, Spot has calmed down and is really an awesome dog. He is great on a leash, but he still will run if he gets away from you. The good news is that he is very treat driven and can be taught new stuff ... (Read More)without any trouble. He would be an awesome companion for a mature home where toddlers or small children would not set off his anxiety, specially because he still gets pretty anxious if you come close to him with a broom. He would also be great somewhere with fenced land because he loves to run, play and explore'| showing off that beautiful personality! Spot is heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, neutered and will be micro-chipped before adoption. Here's your chance to get to know this sweet darling'|. (Less)

Animal ID: 1868Chester (male)

Rat Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Chester is a connoisseur of the finer things in life, and well he should be, as he has had about 10 years to acquire his superb taste. As any parent of a Rat Terrier can tell you, 10 is just a wee bit past middle age, so Chester likely has many more years to enjoy the things he's come to love so much--good food, comfy beds, and unconditional love. Now all he needs is you to share his appreciation of life's blessings. He would love to take walks with you (which might help him shed the excess 1or 2 lbs. of his current 13 lbs.), and if you have other dogs, he's game for some playtime too. He'd also be a fine companion to children who are mature ... (Read More)enough to treat him to the gentleness he deserves. His tolerant attitude does not extend to cats, however, so he requests that you please not have any of those pesky critters. Chester is house-trained and can be trusted to roam freely in the house if you need to be away for a few hours. When you return, you'll find him snoozing on his bed and blanket or greeting you with a wagging tail at the door. As for those comfy beds, Chester loves to sleep with his humans, but he'll happily sleep in his own bed if you prefer. Oh, and don't forget--he LOVES his head, neck, and back scratches and belly rubs, of course. Chester did have some seizures before coming into foster care, so he takes an inexpensive medicine called phenobarbital twice a day to keep the seizures under control, and this doesn't affect his activities in any way. Chester is looking forward to meeting you so that you can see for yourself what a cuddly, happy treasure he truly is. In the meantime, enjoy the photos in his online album at . ========================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Chester, please go to New Rattitude's website at, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
