|Animal ID: 1957Bud (male)|
Bud, or Boudreaux as he's been nicknamed since traveling from Louisiana to his foster home in Tennessee, is a 3-year-old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix weighing 13 lbs. Bud is generally sweet and affectionate, and he enjoys being a snuggly lap dog. He is very polite on a leash and loves going on walks. He's also a good listener and house-trained. A couple of times a day, he gets the 'zoomies' and races around the house--very cute and quite entertaining! Bud occasionally exhibits the temperament of a 'ragin' Cajun' when he gets overly tired or feels frightened or defensive, however, and his foster parents are working with him through consistent and positive training to help him with his behavioral quirks. For example, Bud can be skittish, and if surprised or frightened, he has snapped at or bitten people. For this reason, he should not go to a home with young children, who would not have the sophistication to recognize Bud's body language or warnings that he's feeling uncomfortable. And while most of the time, he gets along very well with the other dogs in his foster home, he has problems with resource guarding and has bitten dogs if they encroach in his space when he has a possession that he holds near and dear, like a chewy or a toy. Nevertheless, Bud longs for love and acceptance as much as any other dog, and if you're an experienced pet parent who is patient and knows how to use positive training methods, you can help Bud grow in confidence and become the dog he wishes to be--your good boy! Bud is looking for a home close enough to his foster home that he can invite you over and show you firsthand the kinds of situations that can trigger his occasional behavioral issues. To see more pics of this challenging but lovable little dog, check out Bud's online photo album at http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/bud. ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING BUD, please go to new Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application. |Animal ID: D-22-17Lexi (female)|
Lexi is an adorable little black and white Rat Terrier / Beagle mix who is 3 years old and weighs about 20 lbs. She is a little shy and cautious at first around new people but once she feels comfortable she is a total cuddlebug. However, Lexi is only good with women and children so she needs a female-only home since she is aggressive toward men. Lexi is spayed, up to date on shots, dewormed, microchipped and on flea and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $200. Lexi is great with other dogs, cats and children. She is housetrained, cratetrained and leash-trained. Lexi comes with her collar, leash, harness, chew bone and medical records. If you are interested in adopting this little cutie, please email email@example.com. You can also call or text (615) 290-2454. Email or text message is the fastest way to get a response. Lexi loves to give kisses and is very gentle. *Lexi is currently in heartworm treatment so she will not be available for adoption until that is completed. * (Less)

Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
