|Animal ID: 2059Lefty (male)|
I'm Lefty, a 15-lb. Rattie mix with somebody long and low (a Dachshund, perhaps?) in my family tree. Though I can't really remember how it happened, I found myself walking and wandering all alone in the big world. Where were my people? Nobody knew, so I was put in a shelter. When you're just 3 1/2 years old and sitting behind bars, you can get scared. Then when you wait and wait and your family never comes to take you home, you can get sad. You wonder if you've been a bad boy, but all of that changed when a stranger showed up one day and told me I was safe. Since then, I've loved every human I've met, and I get along with all my canine foster sisters. (Cats, on the other hand, are just critters, and I don't like 'em. 'Nuff said!) I'm house-trained and will bark when I want to go out. If I have to be left alone, I use a puppy play yard because I don't like crates (reminds me of the shelter days), but honestly, I've never gotten into anything in the house that's not my toy. However, I really don't like being alone and will bark for a while when my family goes out. When I'm outside in the yard, I try to help out by doing guard duty--patrolling the area and barking at cars passing by. I do enjoy playing, but my favorite thing would be just relaxing with you, maybe even sleeping in bed with you. You see, Lefty might have been left all alone once, but I promise I'll never leave your side. If you visit my online photo album at http://ImageEvent.com/newrattitude/lefty, you may decide that it feels so right to have a Lefty in your life. ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING LEFTY, please go to new Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application. |Animal ID: 2044Shep (male)|
My name is Shep, and I'm 14 lbs. of canine cuteness. I have sturdy wee legs that suggest Corgi or Teddy Roosevelt Terrier ancestors. I also have a certain 'fullness of fur' that gives a touch of mystery to my history. But my adorable face, alert ears, and winning personality say Rat Terrier through and through. The most important thing about me is how very sweet and loving I am. I get along great with my Rattie foster siblings and absolutely adore cuddling and snuggling. Sleeping in my crate is fine, but I am always so happy just to crawl into your arms for a snooze. And even though I'm only about 3 or 4, I'm amazingly obedient and very smart. I learned to use the dog door at my foster home immediately, and I'm completely house-trained. I don't destroy stuff (like your shoes or furniture), and I love to go for walks and won't drag you down the street. Whether you have a big house with a yard or an apartment, I will fit in perfectly. I just want to be with you forever. See more pictures of me at http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/shep. ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING SHEP, please go to new Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application. Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
