Rescue Me ID: 14-12-13-00436Maggie (female)
Partially blind rat terrier needs loving home where she will be the only pet. She plays well with other dogs but is becoming increasingly fearful and aggressive with them when startled and needs to be in a home where she will feel more secure in her surroundings. She is a very loving and affectionate lap dog who would make a great pet for a mature person who doesn't have other pets or young children in the home. She needs a fenced yard as she doesn't see well. She's maybe two to three years old but hasn't been spayed yet.

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-02-00700Victor (male)
Victor is a 7 year old JRT/Rattie mix. He comes from an abusive home where broken bones and lack of food were common. He was beaten often for killing chickens. (We are in process of working with the authorities to bring charges against his previous owners.) Now that Victor has had time to heal and the vet says he is ready for adoption he need to find a family that will treat him with kind hands and provide him a forever home. Victor has been a love since we brought him into rescue. Gets along well with dogs (although he prefers dogs his size and smaller) and all people and shows no signs of aggression. Victor is truly a joy. For more pics and video of Victor, see our FB page at www.facebook.com/OklahomaJackRussellRescue Victor is HW negative, up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $75. If you are interested in adopting Victor please email us for an adoption application at email@example.com (Less)

Animal ID: 1125201401Duffy (male)
Duffy is a male, 2-3 year old Rat Terrier/Jack Russel mix. He is neutered, up to date on shots, potty and crate trained. He weighs 31 pounds, super fun and a very well behaved little guy. He LOVES toys and is very affectionate and cuddly. Not comfortable in a home full of GSDs at his current foster home. He got along with great with a previous small foster but big dogs seem to scare him. His trial adoption had a large lab and he was not comfortable. Has been hanging out being my hubby's office buddy during the day away from the pack of big dogs. Very content just chillin with people. His adoption fee is $85.00. Must have a fenced yard for protection. Most of our dogs are being fostered in Stillwater, Ok. Page updated daily. |Rescue Me ID: 14-07-19-00399Vinny (male)|
Vinny is a sweet playful dog. Probably about a year old. Has been around other dogs. Gets along with them well and stands on his own with the larger dogs. He tends to bark at cats when he sees them so do not think he likes them. He loves to grab his stuffed toys and run circles while you chase him. He will also carry his toy while going on walks until he is distracted then drops it. Too cute! Unknown on housetraining but doesn't seem to go when kenneled. Adoption is $150 to help cover cost of heartworm check, vacs, neuter, deflea/tick, deworming, microchipped. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application.

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-15-00092Fiona (female)
Fiona is a female jack russell terrier/rat terrier mix, approximately 5 years old about 16 pounds, spayed, current on all shots, micro-chipped and heart worm negative. She is very active and enjoys playing with other dogs. Very sweet girl, loves to get pets and gives you kisses, would be a great girl to sit and watch TV with, either with you on the couch or on her favorite dog bed. Very patient with you and would love for you to put on any coat or any other clothing on her. She does enjoy Kong Tennis balls and they are her favorite. She is crate trained and house broken. Fiona came to us with a severely deformed back leg which, after a few x-rays, we learned had been crushed not too long before being turned in to the shelter. She gets along great by walking on the back portion of her leg, she can go up and down stairs, and has no problem even running on it, and has done well on walks. There are more pictures of all of our adoptable dogs on our website. http://GroovyPawsRescue.com Our Mission is to save unwanted, homeless and abandoned small breed dogs and place them with safe, caring adoptive families. Additionally, to provide public education on the importance of spaying and neutering all pets to help control overpopulation. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rat Terrier in Oklahoma
Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Oklahoma if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
