Rescue Me ID: 16-02-11-00085ChaCha (male)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

ChaCha is a 35 lb mixed-breed (We really don't know what kind of mix) who loves to run! He definitely needs a yard to run laps in. He'd make a great buddy for a human runner too. He hasn't had any formal training, but is very capable of learning. He has a loveably quirky personality. He barks at anyone (especially cats) that comes near our house. But he's never actually shared a home with a cat, so I'm not sure how he would do with them.

Rat Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Bella would do best with a stay-at-home Rat Terrier fan. She's a perfect companion. Bella will stay at your side, sit beside you and on your lap, walk with you, and keep you company. She is wonderful as the 'only-dog', only somewhat getting along with other dogs. She stays very close to her 'person'. She was born April 2011 (about 4 1/2 years) and weighs about 13 lbs. She has an underbite, and she also has scars on her right shoulder/neck from a dog attack. She is very healed. Bella loves to take walks, and play fetch and tug-of-war. She adores having a stuffed 'something' to carry around. She's not fond of snow or rain, sometimes ... (Read More)needing her person's company to use bathroom. She's also an excellent watch dog! Though she's never bitten, Bella's warded off a few strangers with her barking and mini-growling reception. Once she gets to know you, she's always happy to see you and be with you. (Less)

Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Oklahoma if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
