|Rescue Me ID: 14-10-03-00496Jack (male)|
Jack is a sweet boy. He weighs about 13 pounds We rescued him in CA about a year ago. He lived with our 3 other dogs with no problem. Recently we moved to Missouri and all was fine until 3 weeks ago. For some reason he does not like our other neutered male rat terrier and will fight with him. We never know when it will happen. It may be a dominance issue since the older alpha dog could not make the trip to Missouri with us. Jack does not fight with the spayed female rat terrier- just the male. He is fine with people and children. He loves attention. In fact, he craves him. He loves to be picked up and cuddled. He loves to play ball and will play retrieve all day long. At this point I think he would fit perfectly in a one dog home. It breaks our heart to let him go but it is in his best interest if we rehome him. (Less)

There's a whole lotta personality in this big sweetheart of a girl! Baby is everything you love about Rat Terriers--loyal, intelligent, affectionate, playful, and funny. Baby's favorite place will be right by your side, helping out with whatever you're doing and ready when you are for a walk, a game of fetch, or a nap on the couch. She's no puppy, but 10-year-old Baby is 20 lbs. of energy and requires regular playtime or other active exercise. She loves to chase tennis balls and play with her squeaky toys. She walks fairly well on a leash, though she tends to pull a bit. She is friendly and will enjoy meeting your adult friends out on a walk around the neighborhood. However, she doesn't like to be picked up or chased and fast-moving hands make her very nervous. She will let you know when she feels threatened or uncomfortable with a growl. She is especially fearful of children and for this reason an adult-only home with a calm environment would be best. Baby is house trained, but she does not ask to go out. She will appreciate an established routine and expect you to be sensitive to her need to be let out several times a day. She is not crate trained, but her house manners are excellent. She can reliably be left loose in the house when you are gone. Baby is so smart! Besides knowing the verbal commands for sit, lie down, and wait, she also knows how to shake and roll over. She would love to learn some more tricks and would be easy to train. Baby communicates vocally with a howl when she is excited or when she wants something. She barks at times but not excessively. She is a snuggler in bed, in your lap, or next to you on the couch. She really enjoys watching TV and can recognize animals on the screen! Baby wouldn't mind being the one and only center of your attention, but she would also be fine sharing your home with other pets. She is truly a wonderful dog, and she can't wait to meet you! ========================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Baby, please go to New Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application. Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
