Hello, My mother is a senior citizen who lives in Emporia that was widowed last year and is moving to Kansas City before the end of the year to be closer to family. She has 2 white Rat Terriers that are littermates (Barney & Bitsy) that she will need to leave behind, so I'm posting on her behalf to see if anyone would be interested in adopting them. The last few years my mother was taking care of her husband, so the dogs were left inside quite a bit, so I think they would have to be re-trained to be house broken, though I believe they were initially. Also, they are fairly overweight, since she had their food bowls sitting out all day, so ... (Read More)their diets would have to be modified as well. I'm not sure if they get along with kids or cats, since they weren't around either, but they did bark at strangers when around. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but my Mother doesn't have that technology. All the best, Jasen (Olathe, KS) (Less)

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] TRT rat terrier. Was told purebred. No papers. Crate trained. Travels well. Lover, not a biter. Can't afford to take care of her. On phenobarbital twice a day for seizures. My husband passed away and I've had to downsize. She deserves a better life than I can give her.

Heidi is a 6 year old terrier mix that originally came to us when her mom was unable to take care of her anymore. When she first arrived she had a bladder stone the size of a flattened golf ball. She had that removed and recovered beautifully and was adopted to a great family. Unfortunately Heidi and their other dog were unable to get along after many months of her new family trying. Dogs like people, oftentimes cannot work things out no matter how much we try. Heidi would do best in a home with no alpha dogs or as an only dog. She loves being outside, and went on many camping trips. Heidi is housebroke with the occasional accident, crate ... (Read More)trained and walks well on a leash. PIease Read Before Adopting a Rat Terrier in Kansas
Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Kansas if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
