Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Kazaam! I am a very outgoing boy who is very happy and friendly. I will need a patient home to work with me on housebreaking and manners. Here is some information on my breed blends: Chihuahua: Chihuahuas are alert dogs with terrier-like qualities. They are good with families if the children are gentle and patient. Because of their small size, they require little exercise and are good city dogs, but can be sensitive to cold temperatures. Smooth coated Chihuahuas need very little grooming due to their short hair. Long coats need occasional brushing but still require minimal grooming. Terriers: These are feisty, energetic ... (Read More)dogs whose sizes range varies greatly. Their ancestors were bred to hunt and kill vermin. Many continue to project the attitude that they're always eager for a spirited argument. Most terriers have wiry coats that require special grooming known as stripping in order to maintain a characteristic appearance. In general, they make engaging pets, but require owners with the determination to match their dogs' lively characters. Please come see me today! Breed: Chihuahua/Terrier Blend Sex: Male Age: 3 Years Weight: 15.4 Lbs Where I Came From: Owner Surrender Energy Level: Moderate-Needs Daily Exercise Housebreaking Status: Needs Help-Recommend Crate Training Grooming: Frequent Brushing Children: Needs to go to a home with children over 8 pending an interaction Dogs: Seems To Do Well With Dogs Who Are Not In His Face Commands: Working On Sit Adoption Fee: $50.00 A Special Note from the Allen County SPCA: Remember dogs are a lifelong commitment. Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Fletcher is a 5.5 year old Italian Greyhound/Rat Terrier mix. He is a very social little guy who does great with other dogs and gets along with cats. He has never met a stranger and loves to make new friends. Fletcher is house trained but does not really like being crated; he is allowed to be loose in the bedroom while his foster family is away and does well with this (he does not get into or tear anything up). He is a high jumper and can run very fast; he would do best with a 5-6' fence or supervised time outside. He does walk nicely on a leash and would be an excellent walking/jogging companion. Fletcher does have a grain allergy and ... (Read More)should be kept on a grain free food which is inexpensive and easily purchased at any pet store. Fletcher's favorite hobbies include snuggling under blankets, looking out the window, fetching tennis balls, lounging on the back of the sofa and watching/chasing the squirrels up in the trees. He is very much a lap dog and does not mind being held; he will even wrap his front paws around your shoulders and "hold on". Fletcher knows how to "sit" and will come when called; because he's a smart boy, he could easily learn other commands/tricks. He has a great smile ... a toothy grin, common in Italian Greyhounds, which he will display when he is very excited. He is a little clown, full of personality and will always keep you laughing! Fletcher would do well in most any home and, although we have not had him around children, we believe he is easy going enough that he would do fine with them as well. Fletcher is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines. If you think he could be just the boy you've been looking for, please mention him on your adoption application. Fletcher's adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I work in hospice and this little lady and her buddy Rex,belonged to one of our patients that had no family/anyone willing to take them. They are sweet and love to cuddle. She is somewhat timid and pees when she's nervous or scared.Rex is more boisterous and outgoing but very sweet also. He is 5 years old. The late owner's vet said she was 10 yrs old. She could use a teeth cleaning. I have had them for almost 2 months and wish I could keep them, but they hate my cat. I've tried to acclimate them but it's not working and the kitty has been in the basement hiding out this whole time. I also have two big dogs that aren't too crazy about ... (Read More)sharing. That I could deal with, but it's just not fair to the cat. (Less)

Rat Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Eddie is a Rat Terrier mix who is between the age of 6-8 years old. He is tri color male and is neutered, updated on shots and heartworm tested. Eddie gets along with small and medium sized dogs and teenaged kids. Eddie is housebroken, crate trained and walks on a leash like a pro. Eddie is trained to a tie out but prefers the run of a fenced in yard. He loves to sit in your lap or next to you and is a cuddle bug and a half. Eddie is quick learner and can jump over two feet gates with ease, agility perhaps? Would make a good dog for 4H and is eager to learn and please.

Rescue Me ID: 13-10-11-00502Kismet (female)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Kismet: 2 year old rat terrier/chihuahua 7-8 lbs potty trained good with kids/dogs/people 'Petite & dainty Kismet has the best characteristics of both her parents which make her unique and so enjoyable to have around. She loves to snuggle and cuddle and get pampered like a chihuahua; but she also is feisty, daring and intelligent as is a rat terrier. She's a 'bug hunter extraordinaire' and will ruthlessly trail and catch those pesky flies which sneak in open doors. You'll never need a fly swatter with her on patrol! Kismet, or 'Kizzie' as we fondly call her, gets along well with other dogs but would also be fine as an 'only ... (Read More)child'; she's able to keep herself entertained and attention from her people keeps her satisfied. She is potty trained and not particularly interested in toys, nor does she feel the need to chew things up and get into mischief. She isn't too energetic but does enjoy brisk walks and car rides. Although a she's very affectionate and cuddly (not to mention cute), Kismet is strong-willed so will need a home in which she is given rules and boundaries or she will start acting like she's the boss. Kizzie's adoption fee is $200; she's spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations.' (Less)
