Azia is a tiny 6.5-lb, 4-year-old lover of the lap. All she wants is to be next to her person. She is house trained and will sleep in a crate, but her favorite spot is in the bed with you.     We have had Hunter for 9 years. He is a great dog! A few years ago my husband and I started a family. He used to be an indoor dog, but with new babies, he ended up becoming an outdoor dog. Hunter is great with our kids and other dogs; however, we don't have time to give him the love, affection, and home environment he deserves. I feel horrible because there is absolutely nothing wrong with him. I just want to give him another chance to be in a loving family environment once again. Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Jingle Belle is an interesting combination of terrier (we think Toy Fox Terrier or Rat Terrier) and Dachshund. She was found almost on our doorstep one morning, left in a crate overnight. Jingle (or Belle, whichever you prefer) is about 18 months old and doesn't seem to know much about the world. She is somewhat shy but once she warms up to you, she is yours forever. Jingle seems to prefer women and is afraid of most men (with exposure to the right man, though, she will probably come around). She gets along well with most dogs but wants to be the one and only lap dog - she'll growl if other dogs want to share in the love. We think ... (Read More)with kind, firm training she will come out of this. After all, she has been through quite a bit and wants to hold onto whatever security she might have. She is a good watchdog but only barks when someone approaches her car or her house. She loves to play fetch with toys. She is also very sweet and loving and hopefully will find her forever home soon.     Hi! I am Prieto! I'm a 3-year old loving PATTERDALE TERRIER. I am a bit shy at first, but once I know I can trust you (especially if you give me food) you will be my favorite person. Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dainty yet spunky little Alicia is a 1-year-old toy-sized, Teddy, or Type B, Rat Terrier mix, who weighs 7.5 lbs. Alicia can be timid at first when meeting new people and pups, but in no time at all, this love bug will warm up to you and begin to snuggle and give you little kisses. She likes to take stuffed animals and play 'keep away' from the other dogs in her foster home. She loves to run as fast as her little legs will carry her through the yard, playing with the bigger dogs. Alicia is reliably house trained using a doggie door and is working to master loose-leash walking and basic commands such as 'sit,' 'come,' and 'stay.' She is well ... (Read More)mannered at feeding time, respecting the space and food bowls of the other foster dogs. Bedtime is a breeze, as Alicia readily goes into her crate at night to sleep, and in the morning, after everyone has gone outside to do their 'business,' she loves to jump into the bed with her foster mom and snuggle under the covers. This smart girl would do well in a doggie obedience class, which would help with socialization and confidence building. Alicia is looking for a 'forever' person to expose her to all the wonderful things dog-related. Check out the pictures and video of her and her ever-wagging tail at http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/aliciasandimasca and at http://youtu.be/gWBSZJld4j8, and you may realize YOU are the one she is looking for! ========================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Alicia, please go to New Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application. PIease Read Before Adopting a Rat Terrier in California
Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
