Azia is a tiny 6.5-lb, 4-year-old lover of the lap. All she wants is to be next to her person. She is house trained and will sleep in a crate, but her favorite spot is in the bed with you. She comes when called and walks perfectly on the leash. She likes to go in the car as long as you are going! She gets along with dogs but needs to know she can't be the boss. She is possessive of her person, and while she will accept that she must share, she would do great as the princess of the palace without other dogs. Animal ID: 1521Roo (female)

Rat Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Happy little 9-month-old Roo Roo is all of 5 1/2 lbs. She was rescued from a shelter after having been found with her leg fractured, wandering the streets in the Central Valley of California. She's currently under home rest to allow her leg to heal, but it's pretty hard to keep this little girl down and calm because she wants so badly to run and play with the other dogs in her foster home. A little hesitant to go to someone new, this social gal warms up quickly when she realizes there is nothing to fear, and she seems to love all people and dogs. She also loves her toys, shaking and tossing them whenever she gets a chance. Although she ... (Read More)barks at cats in another room, she ignores them when they walk around her and would likely get along with any cats after she gets to know them. Roo is pretty much potty trained, if taken out or prompted to go outside, recently having only an occasional accident of the 'solid sort' indoors, and she has used a doggie door since day one in her foster home. Roo rides well in a car inside her crate, whining just a little at first and then quickly settling down. She does resist a leash right now, perhaps because it keeps her from running and playing like she wants to, but she is working on her leash manners with short little walks. She minds well, sits for treats, and comes when her foster mom calls out 'Roo Roo.' Roo loves to be held and to sit in a lap, which is always welcomed because she is such a sweetie pie. She also loves to sleep in bed with her foster mom where she will either curl up on the pillow or crawl under the covers. Because of her tiny size and the fact that she wants to play as if she doesn't know how tiny and fragile she is, she needs a home without young children or large dogs, both of whom might play too roughly with her. However, she would definitely want a canine playmate closer to her size and probably wouldn't enjoy being an only dog, as the play that she currently can't engage in seems to be so important to her. In mid-January, Roo is scheduled to have X-rays taken to determine how well her leg has healed, and if it has healed fully, this sweet little girl will be cleared for adoption and can go to the kind and loving home she so deserves. If not, her adoption would have to wait until she was whole again. You can see more pictures of Roo at http://www.imageevent.com/newrattitude/roo . ========================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Roo, please go to New Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.     Angel Baby is a 5-month-old Rat Terrier weighing just 5.8 lbs. She's not expected to get much bigger, but what she lacks in size she more than makes up for in spirit! She is a very outgoing, energetic, and frisky little girl! Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bitzy is a 5-month-old Rat Terrier mix, who currently weighs just 6 lbs., and while no one can be certain about her final adult size, you can be quite certain that there is nothing itty-bitty about this girl's personality or energy level. She doesn't know the meaning of the word 'stranger.' Instead, she welcomes everyone with lots of kisses, as if they were long lost friends. She plays well with the other pups in her foster home and has learned to be respectful of the resident cats. In the evenings, Bitzy loves to snuggle up with her foster mom on the sofa to watch TV, but that's all the couch-potato behavior you're going to get from this ... (Read More)powerhouse. She loves to romp with her foster friends in the yard, so she would like her new home to have another doggie playmate and a fenced yard. That's not too much to ask, she thinks, since she is not only an eye-catcher with an endearing attitude but also very smart! Initially, she was trained to use a 'potty park,' but now she knows how to use a doggie door to go outdoors to do her business, and although she is not 100 percent house trained, she is getting very close to it. Jingle (or Belle, whichever you prefer) is about 18 months old and doesn't seem to know much about the world. She is somewhat shy but once she warms up to you, she is yours forever. Jingle seems to prefer women and is afraid of most men (with exposure to the right man, though, she will probably come around). She gets along well with most dogs but wants to be the one and only lap dog - she'll growl if other dogs want to share in the love. We think ... (Read More)with kind, firm training she will come out of this. After all, she has been through quite a bit and wants to hold onto whatever security she might have. She is a good watchdog but only barks when someone approaches her car or her house. She loves to play fetch with toys. She is also very sweet and loving and hopefully will find her forever home soon.     Meet Cookie! This adorable girl loves to be held and to cuddle! She is a great listener, so has tons of potential for learning new commands. She had a very rough start to life, but is ready for a new beginning! As she can sometimes be nervous and a bit reactive around other dogs, she would likely to best in a family without other dogs or with an experienced owner. Her foster family is looking for a family that can provide her the TLC she deserves

Hi, my name is Angelina, 'Angie' for short. I am 3 years old and weigh 13 lbs. I love to hunt for squirrels and run and play with my foster brothers and sisters. When I play, my foster mom says I sound like the Tasmanian Devil, but that's just me. I like to talk! I am house trained, but foster mom doesn't think I've had much training beyond that. In fact, she thinks that my previous owners forgot to teach me not to use my mouth to get attention. She thinks they played with me with their hands and feet instead of toys. Sure, it might have been cute when I was a puppy, but now I have to relearn not to use my mouth like that! Sometimes I use my ... (Read More)mouth to make bad or scary things go away--things like nail clippers--and she puts a thing called a muzzle around my mouth to keep all of us safe. Anyway, I am still 'in training,' learning not to use my mouth to communicate my every desire. She is teaching me 'kisses' and to pay attention to a toy in her hand instead of using my mouth to play with her hand. Luckily, I am highly food motivated and very smart, and foster mommy says that this makes me easier to train, but old habits can be hard to break and until I've earned my master's degree in this new behavior, I wouldn't be good around children. You know, they would wave their little hands and I would want to play with them with my mouth or they might even be scary--worse than the nail clippers--and...I wouldn't want to hurt them, or anybody. Since cats just look like big squirrels to me, I should probably not be tempted with any of them as housemates, either. My foster mom says that people who are 'terrier-savvy' would understand me completely and help me to show off my finer traits which, in addition to being cute, playful, and smart, include being a terrific snuggler! Oh, and when I am happy I also love to roll around on my back and show my belly! I am hoping that one of these humans called 'terrier people' checks out more pictures of me at http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/angelinasandimasca because I am getting so excited just thinking about having my very own home! ========================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Angelina, please go to New Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.     Caiden was saved pregnant from a high kill shelter in Riverside County. We rescued her and she gave birth to two puppies. Caiden is a true hero, we were notified about three puppies just born to a Chihuahua that died in birth at Downey Pound, we decided to see if Caiden was up to feeding three more lives. Caiden stepped up to the plate and saved these puppies, so Caiden has been very busy with five puppies that are ready to be adopted. Caiden is spayed now and ready for her forever loving home that we feel she deserves. If you are interested in meeting this mama hero please give Tee a call 310-490-3337 or tnt718@aol.com

Hi! I am Prieto! I'm a 3-year old loving PATTERDALE TERRIER. I am a bit shy at first, but once I know I can trust you (especially if you give me food) you will be my favorite person. I am very loving and love to play fetch! I am also crate trained, potty trained and love walks. Since I am so little (only 10 lbs) large things may sometimes overwhelm me and I ask to be picked up. I also like it when things are calm around the house so I can relax. I love to give kisses and cuddle.     Dainty yet spunky little Alicia is a 1-year-old Rat Terrier mix, who weighs 7.5 lbs. Alicia can be timid at first when meeting new people and pups, but in no time at all, this love bug will warm up to you and begin to snuggle and give you little kisses. She likes to take stuffed animals and play 'keep away' from the other dogs in her foster home. She loves to run as fast as her little legs will carry her through the yard, playing with the bigger dogs. Alicia is reliably house trained using a doggie door and is working hard on her loose-leash walking and basic commands such as 'sit.' She is very smart and would do well in a doggie obedience ... Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
