Rat Terrier    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Our Rat Terrier, named Tucker, is a lovable dog that is seeking a loving individual and/or family to adopt him. My wife and I have been caring for him for the past 10 years and due to personnel issues we need to find him a new home. Since the first day my wife and I welcomed him into the family he's been on the PetsMart Optimum Banfield Wellness program that takes care of all shots, dental checkups, and overall health. He's approx. 10 years old and approx. 16 lbs in weight. He enjoys laying in the sun (as you can clearly see), playing fetch and hanging with the family. He's been trained by my wife to walk on a leach, sit, roll over, and ... (Read More)speak on command. He's also a people loving dog that loves kids of all ages! We will only allow him to go to a good home to a caring individual. (Less)

Animal ID: 1626Addison (female)

Rat Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Addison is a 2-year-old 15-lb. lover of the couch. If you are looking for a companion to hang out with you on the sofa and follow you around the house, she is your girl. She does take long walks four or five times a week, but overall she is pretty low energy. Addison gets along with her canine foster siblings--both the big dogs and a fellow Rattie puppy--and does well with other dogs she has met. She likes people, including small children, and will jump into anyone's lap. Addison is not food aggressive and shares her bowl with the resident puppy. She is house trained and sleeps quietly in her kennel at night although she doesn't like to go ... (Read More)in it during the day. She walks well on a leash. Addison is a sweet girl who wants nothing more than to cuddle with her human. She would do well in an apartment, a condo, or a house and would prefer to have someone home a good portion of the day. Doesn't she sound like the perfect buddy? Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Fredrick is around 4 years old, such a sweetheart! He is great with other animals and people of all ages. He was an evidence dog from a hoarding situation out in the desert. We pulled him from a shelter in Coachella when he was at risk of being euthanized for space. He's a little muscle man, such a cute little body! And that face is so adorable! He's around 10 pounds, walks fine on leash, not a yapper and he's so appreciative of kindness. Poor kid, I can't imagine what a horrible life he lived until now. All of our animals are fixed, current on vaccines and microchipped before being adopted. Our adoption fee for dogs is 300-400. ... (Read More)Our adoption fee for cats is 175. (Less)

Animal ID: 1625Avery (female)

Rat Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

The shelter can be such a scary place to a sweet little Rat Terrier. Just ask Avery. This 3-year-old 14-lb. girl remains quite timid after her stint there, but she is so happy to be in a home setting again and is settling into her new routine nicely. Even though she is still fearful, once she is comfortable with you, she comes out of her shell and is very affectionate and friendly. Nevertheless, new situations and people will be scary to her, so she needs a home that is not too chaotic and people who are very patient with her so she that can continue to build her confidence. She has not been around small children and may do best in a quieter ... (Read More)environment where she is not left alone for long periods of time. She gets along great with the other dogs and cats in her foster home. Avery knows how to use a dog door but still likes to have someone go outside with her when she goes potty, so she is currently on a schedule to help prevent any accidents. Being very people-focused, she will love taking walks with you and just chilling in your lap. In other words, Avery will make a wonderful companion! Rat Terrier    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Imagine growing up in the very home where you were born and then, on the brink of adulthood, being thrown behind bars through no fault of your own. Well, that's sort of what happened to 3-year-old Aspen when she found herself uprooted and placed in a shelter. Remarkably, this sweet, affectionate, and resilient girl has quickly adapted to her foster home and is doing great!! Weighing just 13 lbs., Aspen is quite athletic and learns very fast. Understandably, she is a bit fearful of new things, but given a little time and patience, she eventually comes around. She loves taking walks, as well as cuddling up with her foster dad for a good nap. ... (Read More)She gets along great with the dogs and cats in her foster home and enjoys playing outside with the other dogs. And while she has not been around small children, as sweet as her personality is, we suspect she would do quite well. She is house trained and uses a dog door; and she loves sleeping in bed with her foster parents but is also content in a crate. Having survived that earlier traumatic time in her life, Aspen now just wants to put down her roots forever with the person or family looking for an awesome canine companion.     Hi! I am Prieto! I'm a 3-year old loving PATTERDALE TERRIER. I am a bit shy at first, but once I know I can trust you (especially if you give me food) you will be my favorite person. I am very loving and love to play fetch! I am also crate trained, potty trained and love walks. Since I am so little (only 10 lbs) large things may sometimes overwhelm me and I ask to be picked up. I also like it when things are calm around the house so I can relax. I love to give kisses and cuddle. My previous owners were a military family that fell in love with me after fostering me, but unfortunately were moving across country and could not keep me. Will ... (Read More)you be my furever one? Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
