Karlie tolerated him well as an infant, but now that he is a crawling, active toddler, she DOES NOT like him one bit. She nips and growls at him constantly, and we are afraid that one of them might hurt the other. :(

Rat Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi, my name is Buddy! I'm a Rat Terrier mix, just under 10 lbs. and 1 1/2 to 2 years old. I may be small, but I have a HUGE personality! I excel at play. I love having a big ol' basket of toys at my disposal and playing with my canine foster siblings. I live with two cats in my foster home, and we are friends too! In fact, I love everybody once I get to know them, though I might get a little scared and bark at first when I meet new people or dogs. In addition to my playfulness and friendliness, I'm super athletic. I can run fast as the wind and jump high. I'm always making my foster mom laugh. She says I'm a little pistol and smart as a ... (Read More)whip! I learned how to use a dog door in nothing flat. And Foster Mom loves that even though I'm a boy, I'm not into marking like my foster brothers. I squat to potty in the grass and not all over fences! I'm crate trained and travel well in a crate in the car. Since I have lots of energy and need plenty of exercise, I would love to live in an active home with a canine brother or sister who also likes to play and wrestle. If you are looking for a happy, enthusiastic little guy who loves playing with toys, going for walks, and life in general, then I'm ready to be YOUR buddy! I'll be available for adoption after March 10, but I'm accepting applications now. For more pictures of me, please visit http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/buddy .=======================================================================================If you are interested in adopting this dog, please go to New Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.     MEET ELFY -- AVAILABLE! -- SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY-- Elfy Philidelphy :) She's even cuter in the fur, and those ears!!! GAH! This little puppy found herself incarcerated at a local shelter a couple months ago and she was terrified to say the least. She was placed in a back kennel because staff was not able to handle her, and she remained there for a week with no visitors or volunteers to work with her. Fortunately we saw here there one day and knew we had to help, and a furbulous foster home stepped up to teach this little gal that humans aren't all that bad. She's come around nicely and is now ready to meet her forever family!! Our loving ... (Read More)terripoo (terrier x poodle) is about a year old. Her foster parents say she's very well behaved, smart as a whip and extremely responsive to training. She's also a fan of food which helps! Elfy gets along harmoniously with other dogs but seems to prefer pals somewhat closer to her size. We definitely want her to have a confident, balanced doggie playmate and cuddle buddy in her future home who will be her guide as she matures. (Canine companion required.) She's playful and energetic as a terrier puppy should be and will bark with pure joy when romping around with friends or seeing her beloved humans return. Elfy is attentive to her human guardians and although shy with new people, she warms up quickly in her home setting. She's looking for dog savvy parents who understand dog body language. She needs folks who will help her gain confidence and trust as she grows but will let her go at her own pace and not rush her. She has excellent leash and car manners and loves her crate when it's chill time :) She also LOVES to snuggle with her people and hopes her family will want to snuggle with her too. Elfy's a really affectionate little girlie with a sweet disposition Doesn't she sound like a catch? Well she is!! The Elf is looking for a quiet home environment without kids. She also wants a house with a backyard for zoomies :) If you're an experienced dog family with room for a lap warmer this cold and wet winter, reach out to us today and let's get Elfy home in time for Valentine's Day! --- To view more photos and pupdates of Elfy, please visit her on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1045265588831275.1073741952.294289027262272&type=3 (Less)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This little character is Fin, a 4 year old Australian Cattledog mix. At 22 pounds, he is a small guy with mass amounts of personality! Fin has learned a lot of house manners. He is house and crate trained. He knows sit and 'to your bed' when it's time for the crate. He is wonderful in the car and on leash. He learns so fast that he may have learned something new by the time you are reading this. He also LOVES his blankeys! He loves to bury himself in his blankets and pillows. He's also a goof - very wiggly and snuggly and affectionate once he gets to know you. Fin enjoys casual hikes or long strolls through the neighborhood. Once he gets to ... (Read More)know his person, he is even good off leash on a hike. Fin is a big guy in a small package. He needs a home where his people aren't pushovers. If he gets an inch, he will take a mile. Therefore, he is looking for a home that understands that some dogs feel best when they have a lot of structure. He also is looking for a home where he is a buddy rather than a teddy bear. He will do best hanging out with his person but not being cuddled and coddled. A home without kids is required. He lives with other animals and gets along well. Just like with people, he does best when his animal friends aren't pushovers. In order to help Fin be the best he can be, he has been enrolled in professional training where his obedience skills have been refined. He has received additional socialization with dogs and people, too. He will always be a one or two person kind of dog rather than the super social, love everyone kind of guy. If you want devoted, he is definitely that. HIs foster mom says that he has a way of becoming a part of your heart, so even with his need for structure, he is well worth it. He will come with a few sessions of training with his new person and current trainer so that his transition to a new home is smooth and effective. The training is included in his adoption fee. Fin is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to meet potential adopters in Southern CA. Out of area adopters will be happily referred to local rescues. Fin is a SoCal kind of guy and loves the weather here. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)
