Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Oreo was found abandoned in the country in late August, traumatized & fearful. She's very smart and is now lively, affectionate, crate-trained, housebroken, and uses dog door. The vet says she is about 12 months old. She weighs 14 pounds and won't get much bigger. She has all vaccinations & is spayed. As with all rat terriers, she likes to dig and will try to get out of fence, so she needs a secure yard. She comes to her name or whistle. She loves to play or be in your lap, plays well with my other dogs and doesn't bother my cat. This puppy needs a family and forever home!

Rat Terrier    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Angel Baby is a 5-month-old Rat Terrier weighing just 5.8 lbs. She's not expected to get much bigger, but what she lacks in size she more than makes up for in spirit! She is a very outgoing, energetic, and frisky little girl! She loves to play with her stuffed toys and with the other dogs in the household, and all the while, she talks in what sounds like complete sentences! She wants to play with the cats, too, but they're not too thrilled about that because she gets so excited to interact with them and moves around so fast! Angel is being trained to sleep in her crate at night, but sometimes she gets to sleep in the bed with her person ... (Read More)because she is such a great little cuddler. She is also doing well in her house training, learning to go potty on pads, as well as outside. This smart cookie knows how to use a doggie door and would definitely benefit from a puppy training class to continue learning things like 'sit,' 'down,' 'come,' and 'leave it.' All in all, Angel Baby is a very happy, playful little girl! Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Sierra has been fixed, she is in good health. She lives with a Springer Spaniel who she thinks she helps me get into the garage when needed, so she is very smart! She isn't house trained. She is as you can see tan in color and feisty. I think she is young enough to be house trained (maybe 2 yrs) She loves to play with kids, dogs and cats as well as adults She will also sit on in your lap and be happy as a clam. We love her but cannot have her in the house and since she isn't house trained this is a problem. She needs a good family to play with and train her to have fun! If you have a larger dog than ... Animal ID: 1496Bitzy (female)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bitzy is a 5-month-old Rat Terrier mix, who currently weighs just 6 lbs., and while no one can be certain about her final adult size, you can be quite certain that there is nothing itty-bitty about this girl's personality or energy level. She doesn't know the meaning of the word 'stranger.' Instead, she welcomes everyone with lots of kisses, as if they were long lost friends. She plays well with the other pups in her foster home and has learned to be respectful of the resident cats. In the evenings, Bitzy loves to snuggle up with her foster mom on the sofa to watch TV, but that's all the couch-potato behavior you're going to get from this ... (Read More)powerhouse. She loves to romp with her foster friends in the yard, so she would like her new home to have another doggie playmate and a fenced yard. That's not too much to ask, she thinks, since she is not only an eye-catcher with an endearing attitude but also very smart! Initially, she was trained to use a 'potty park,' but now she knows how to use a doggie door to go outdoors to do her business, and although she is not 100 percent house trained, she is getting very close to it. To see more of itty-bitty Bitzy and her huge personality, take a peek at her photo album at http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/Bitzy or her online video at http://youtu.be/6l5luM0RsRo . ========================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Bitzy, please go to New Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application. Rat Terrier    Age: Adult

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We have had Hunter for 9 years. He is a great dog! A few years ago my husband and I started a family. He used to be an indoor dog, but with new babies, he ended up becoming an outdoor dog. Hunter is great with our kids and other dogs; however, we don't have time to give him the love, affection, and home environment he deserves. I feel horrible because there is absolutely nothing wrong with him. I just want to give him another chance to be in a loving family environment once again. Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Jingle Belle is an interesting combination of terrier (we think Toy Fox Terrier or Rat Terrier) and Dachshund. She was found almost on our doorstep one morning, left in a crate overnight. Jingle (or Belle, whichever you prefer) is about 18 months old and doesn't seem to know much about the world. She is somewhat shy but once she warms up to you, she is yours forever. Jingle seems to prefer women and is afraid of most men (with exposure to the right man, though, she will probably come around). She gets along well with most dogs but wants to be the one and only lap dog - she'll growl if other dogs want to share in the love. We think ... (Read More)with kind, firm training she will come out of this. After all, she has been through quite a bit and wants to hold onto whatever security she might have. She is a good watchdog but only barks when someone approaches her car or her house. She loves to play fetch with toys. She is also very sweet and loving and hopefully will find her forever home soon. Animal ID: A4767562Panda (male)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Panda is a pleasing seven year old tricolor male Dachshund who was forsaken at the Downey Shelter on October 17th with his buddy Bats (A4767561) because his former owners were moving and had made no provision for him. Weighing seventeen pounds, this charmer walks beautifully on leash with a medium to low energy level and we think he is housebroken. Wilson is a sensitive fellow, so he is looking for a new home in a calm environment without young kids (over age 10 would be okay). Wilson will reward his new family with bundles of love! Wilson is already crate trained, walks well on a leash, and knows several commands, such as sit, stay, fetch, go to the crate, and come. He is also healthy, and up to date on his shots.

She is a 1-year-old cutie weighing about 12 lbs., who is quite athletic and would make a great running or hiking partner and a fun playmate. She would do best in a home with an active family and would love a fenced yard to run around in and play ball in. She has a lot of energy and requires daily exercise. Rat Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm a purebred 9lb red and white Rat Terrier. My human dad passed away in June and I almost ended up in a shelter. I'm 3 years old, neutered, housebroken, micro chipped and up to date on all of my shots. I have been living with my foster mom since August along with 2 cats and 2 small dogs. I get along well with all animals, kids, and adults. Dogs big or small and cats'|well cats are my favorite actually. I prefer to snuggle up with my cat friend all the time. I am a very clean dog and have a low maintenance coat. I get cold easily though so I need to wear sweaters occasionally. I have had a period of grieving and adjustment due to my ... (Read More)previous owner's death which resulted in moderate separation anxiety when my foster mom would leave for work. It was nothing destructive, just crying and pacing. But with the combination of a regular schedule and obedience classes I have really come a long way! I no longer cry in the mornings when left, but I do still sometimes relapse and will need a patient owner who will continue to work with me. My most proud moment was just last week when I graduated from obedience school! I know sit, stay, come, wait, lay down, and off. I walk perfectly on the leash too. I'm learning the ropes of crate training as well. If you are interested in meeting me please contact my foster mom. (Less)

Update - Larry is missing as he ran away from his adoptive parent in Piedmont, CA and was last seen 20 miles away in my old neighborhood in San Lorenzo,CA We are heartbroken. If you have seen Larry please contact me. Please help us with our little Larry. The house my family has been living in for the past 7 years is now being sold by the landlord. I have searched everywhere for housing that will accept my three dogs. I ran out of time and finally found an apartment but they have a 2 dog max. I have searched everywhere for someone to take Larry as he is the sweetest and most loving but I have had no luck. Larry has just 2 days left ... (Read More)before we have to take him to the pound. Larry is an 8 pound Rat Terrier. The sweetest most loving dog I have ever met. House trained, crate trained, neutered and has all his shots. He is quiet and just wants to be near you and to be loved. It really breaks my heart to have to give him up and that's why I am looking for someone to adopt or foster him. I am willing to pay $100 per month for a foster home until I can find housing that will accept three dogs. If you can help or know anyone who can help please contact me (Less)

Rat Terrier    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, my name is Angelina, 'Angie' for short. I am 3 years old and weigh 13 lbs. I love to hunt for squirrels and run and play with my foster brothers and sisters. When I play, my foster mom says I sound like the Tasmanian Devil, but that's just me. I like to talk! I am house trained, but foster mom doesn't think I've had much training beyond that. In fact, she thinks that my previous owners forgot to teach me not to use my mouth to get attention. She thinks they played with me with their hands and feet instead of toys. Sure, it might have been cute when I was a puppy, but now I have to relearn not to use my mouth like that! Sometimes I use my ... (Read More)mouth to make bad or scary things go away--things like nail clippers--and she puts a thing called a muzzle around my mouth to keep all of us safe. Anyway, I am still 'in training,' learning not to use my mouth to communicate my every desire. She is teaching me 'kisses' and to pay attention to a toy in her hand instead of using my mouth to play with her hand. Luckily, I am highly food motivated and very smart, and foster mommy says that this makes me easier to train, but old habits can be hard to break and until I've earned my master's degree in this new behavior, I wouldn't be good around children. You know, they would wave their little hands and I would want to play with them with my mouth or they might even be scary--worse than the nail clippers--and...I wouldn't want to hurt them, or anybody. Since cats just look like big squirrels to me, I should probably not be tempted with any of them as housemates, either. My foster mom says that people who are 'terrier-savvy' would understand me completely and help me to show off my finer traits which, in addition to being cute, playful, and smart, include being a terrific snuggler! Oh, and when I am happy I also love to roll around on my back and show my belly! I am hoping that one of these humans called 'terrier people' checks out more pictures of me at http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/angelinasandimasca because I am getting so excited just thinking about having my very own home! ========================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Angelina, please go to New Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.     Caiden was saved pregnant from a high kill shelter in Riverside County. We rescued her and she gave birth to two puppies. Caiden is a true hero, we were notified about three puppies just born to a Chihuahua that died in birth at Downey Pound, we decided to see if Caiden was up to feeding three more lives. Caiden stepped up to the plate and saved these puppies, so Caiden has been very busy with five puppies that are ready to be adopted. Caiden is spayed now and ready for her forever loving home that we feel she deserves. If you are interested in meeting this mama hero please give Tee a call 310-490-3337 or tnt718@aol.com

Hi! I am Prieto! I'm a 3-year old loving PATTERDALE TERRIER. I am a bit shy at first, but once I know I can trust you (especially if you give me food) you will be my favorite person. I am very loving and love to play fetch! I am also crate trained, potty trained and love walks. Since I am so little (only 10 lbs) large things may sometimes overwhelm me and I ask to be picked up. I also like it when things are calm around the house so I can relax. I love to give kisses and cuddle.     Edward was a severely overweight, blind dog that was one of 20+ dogs confiscated from an animal hoarder, and brought to a high kill shelter.
