Rescue Me ID: 14-07-09-00190Darla (female)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Darla is very submissive towards people, because she is generally scared of people until she gets to know them. She has never tried to bite, ever. This submissiveness does not extend towards dogs, she likes to be the boss. Over all she needs someone who is willing to work with her and take time to let her get to know them. Also I put her as abused neglected but she was actually just a wild dog. It was the only category that sort of fit.

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

She is a loving girl who would love to have a home where she can be an inside dog, get lots of love and attention, and be able to cuddle up on the sofa all day. She prefers women but with time can become accustom to men too. She is terrified of young children and needs a safe home that she can her loving self in. She loves other dogs big and small, but prefers all the attention be on her!

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-27-00074Lucy (female)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Lucy is very active. She should be in a home with a fence and younger children to help burn off her energy. The reason I'm giving away this precious puppy is because she did not get along with my other dog. (Not Lucy's fault) like I said, Lucy likes to play and my other dog is older and it just leads to fighting. Lucy is not housebroken but she will use the puppypads. She knows to sit when it's time to eat and she knows the word 'no'. She is also cratetrained. Although, she is only in the crate at night. She is also in the chewing stage. She just wants to play all the time. She's a big sweetheart if you give her the chance. She's actually a ... (Read More)rescue so her past is unknown, but I highly recommend her for a family that loves to exercise or has a big yard WITH a fence. She's about 15lbs and won't get much bigger. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Rat Terrier in Arkansas
Rat Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Arkansas if they match your IifestyIe. The Rat Terrier is a small breed of hunting dog also sometimes known as a Feist. Rat Terriers are vivacious, playful, and bold. This breed is great with children. Adult Rat Terriers adapt well to adoption. Rat Terriers are very smart and trainable. This breed can live in an apartment but needs plenty of vigorous exercise each day. Rat Terriers enjoy romping in a fenced yard, but because they are enthusiastic diggers, fences should be buried or reinforced around the base.
