Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

10-21-14 What a sweetie we have to introduce you to! Meet our adorable Hattie! She is a young Jack Russell mix, around a year old, but she is very calm and gentle. Hattie was an instant volunteer favorite upon arrival with her reserved and quiet nature. If you are looking for a low-key, no nonsense dog, Hattie is definitely one to check out. She is full of love and longs to be one-on-one with a human. Other dogs are fine for company, however, she dearly loves a lap to lounge in, but isn't a demanding girl. Her low energy level and ability to get along with everyone is a definite plus for Hattie. She is the perfect size house dog and will be ... (Read More)a great companion in a quiet home. We would be happy to send you an application today! Visit us on Facebook at The Charleston Dog Shelter for more photos of Hattie and our other great dogs! (Less)

DIXIE Little bitty pretty one......that's me, Dixie. I am a beagle and rat terrier mix which means I'm cute as a button! They think I was born in April, 2013, but all I know is that I am still a young puppy girl who wants to be loved. I had a family once but they must have gotten tired of me because they dumped me, just like trash, out the of the car one day on someone's property. The lady is feeding me but definitely does not want to keep me....so everyday, even though I am being fed, I am in danger of being taken to the shelter ( which is a kill shelter). I still do not have the security that I will not be euthanized. Please, please ... (Read More)help me! Maybe you would be willing to be my foster home until I can find my forever home and family....I just don't want to be taken to the shelter and put down. The volunteers will pay for all of my food and medical bills while you foster me. What I really want is to go right to my new forever family with my very own people! I'm just a little girl... I promise I won't take up much room in your home but I know that I will fill your heart with love and devotion....they say I am so, so sweet and precious. I just want to be loved! I know you will see what a sweet little girl I am and decide that I will be the perfect forever fur baby for your family! And, we can live happily ever after! (Less)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

I call him Oreo. Oreo had been living under a shed on our property for 4 months, I thought he belonged to a neighbor. We finally convinced him to come live with us, he has done really well, he makes me think he is somebody's lost pet. I took him to the vet, he tested negative for heart worms, and I will send him home with several months of heart worm prevention meds. He has a sweet temperament, and seems to be housebroken as he has not had an accident yet. He is very obedient, stays only in the area of the house where I allow him, and learns very quickly. He is tiny, weighing 8 lbs. He has beautiful markings, the vet says he is a Rat ... (Read More)Terrier mix, if not purebred. The vet gave him a clean bill of health. (Less)
