Animal ID: 1859Dooley (male)

Rat Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dooley is the complete package--loving, attentive, well-mannered, house-trained, and crate trained--and why shouldn't he be? He's had 9 1/2 years to perfect his greatness. He loves to snuggle and to be caressed and petted, and he has a sweet, calm personality that makes him a great lap dog. Dooley's also a happy, gleeful boy, who'll delight you with his occasional bursts of joyous play and outdoor 'rattie runs' that proclaim life is great. We don't believe Dooley has ever met a stranger as he is almost immediately friendly to everyone he meets, including other dogs and children who interact politely with dogs. He currently weighs 17 1/2 lbs. ... (Read More)but is working to get to his ideal weight of 15 lbs. This dapper, intelligent fellow lives to love and please his human. In order to fulfill that purpose, though, he needs someone to love. Won't you consider becoming Dooley's human? Rescue Me ID: 17-01-04-00208Scruffy (male)

Rat Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

He is a sweetheart of a dog, and loves to cuddle. He sleeps underneath the covers at our feet at night. However, we have a fence-in back yard and he gets out. He would need a home with an invisible fence or many many acres of land to run. He darts out the doors any chance he gets and just runs and runs. He comes home when he's good and ready. We've been out chasing him for 2 hours or longer. He was hit by a Tahoe last week. He got lucky with the only injury was a knocked out front tooth and some scratches. Today he darted out again, and my family is afraid he will end up getting killed if he stays here. My children are heartbroken, but they ... (Read More)understand he will get killed if he stays here. He will be missed, but we would rather him be somewhere safe than dead. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-20-00100Bo (male)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Bo is a sweet boy, but due to age, or vision or hearing loss he has become anxious and cries/barks most nights. We haven't slept through the night in months! We can't leave him outside because of the wildlife he barks all night and disturbs the neighbors. He has mild congestive heart failure and some joint issues. Not sure the extent of vision and hearing loss, but surely some due to age. He's never missed a vet visit or heartworm pill. His last checkup was in August. Someone who has land where he could bark and not disturb anyone, or someone who is willing to make him a house dog would be a good fit. He's an excellent guard dog!
